On Sunday, Kolkata Knight Riders delivered a stellar showpiece featuring an impressive spell of bowling by Mitchell Starc and Andre Russell and a commanding fifty by Venkatesh Iyer to claim their third Indian Premier League (IPL) title in style.
This was after KKR had convincingly defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in a one-sided summit clash at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Kolkata Knight Riders opted to field first and took advantage of their bowlers’ brilliance to bundle out Sunrisers for only 113 runs.
KKR reached the target in just 10.3 overs.
The scenes were jubilant as KKR celebrated its third title success.

KKR topped the group stage of the 10-team league, continued their dominance by defeating SRH in the first qualifier on Tuesday and carried that momentum into the final which ended within 29 overs alone.
In recognition of their victory, Gambhir was lifted up on shoulders of KKR players during his final match as mentor.
Gambhir made his coaching debut for KKR this year; he captained them when they won IPL titles in 2012 and 2014.
