Hyderabad, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are heading for a clash over the possession of buildings in Hyderabad, which is no longer a common capital.
On June 2, Telangana would be ready to take charge of AP-owned buildings as the other state has demanded its share in 12 institutions and buildings that do not appear in AP’s schedule IX or Schedule X. One such building is Vaidya Vidhana Parishad building at Koti which APPD claims belongs to them.
In response, Telangana claimed that it had no right to those properties. These properties are valued at hundreds of crores by some insiders; however, neither country seems willing to let go of its ownership claim.
Recently Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy conducted a review meeting with officials asking them to list out these assets which should be taken over from AP after Greater Hyderabad officially becomes the capital of Telangana on June 2nd.
According to official sources AP initially contemplated taking stake in 32 Institutions and other assets within Greater Hyderabad but this was narrowed down to 12 because many have become non-existent or shut now. The twelve institutions include Octopus Building and Land in Gandipet, HACA Bhavan, Pharmacy Board and Real Estate Office Building in Khairatabad, Horticulture Building in Red Hills etc.
