Amarnath pilgrimage The trip to the holy cave located at a height of 3,880 meters in southern Kashmir will begin on June 29th and conclude on August 19th.
Amarnath Shrine lies at an altitude of 3,888 meters above sea level, 46 km from Pahalgam and 14 km from Baltal. It is situated in a narrow gorge at the end of the pine valley.
To ensure that this event runs smoothly, the administration has made elaborate arrangements for pilgrimage. Which include registration, fleet movement, camping facility, medical facilities etc., upgradation of tracks; provisioning of electricity and water supply; mobile phone connectivity,” it said.
All pilgrims are required to receive an RFID card so as to facilitate their quick tracing when necessary and also have them insured with Rs 5 lakh each.
Before hajj government has given guidelines to pilgrims for their own safety and to reduce Security Question.
Here are some dos and don’ts of Amarnath Yatra
Do:
Pilgrims must collect their RFID cards from designated locations in J&K before they embark on their journey. SASB’s issued RFID card should stay on for the entire duration of Yatra.
Dress comfortably; wear sturdy boots.
Don’t rush it; take things slowly as you climb higher in altitude.
Stay hydrated by taking lots of fluids while walking up hill
In case difficulty breathing or discomfort occurs find out. Where the nearest health center is situated then come down if possible
Take breaks often when going uphill
What not to do:
Never overextend yourself
Keep off trails when littering or spoiling environment with trash E.g. Smokers are only allowed one break per day though non-smoking zones should be observed.
