New Delhi: Airbus Helicopters has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) for financing the purchase of Airbus Helicopters in India. The MoU was signed by General Manager Rahul Priyadarshi and Sunny Guglani, Head of Airbus Helicopters (India and South Asia). Through the MoU it will be possible to identify those potential Indian civil helicopter operators whose interest lies in purchase financing through SIDBI’s assistance. These opportunities will be assessed and funding provided only for Airbus.
“The partnership we have formed with SIDBI marks a new beginning in making civil helicopters more accessible to Indian operators and positioning these rotary-wing aircraft as essential tools of nation development. Our vast range of products coupled with our market knowledge makes us an appealing partner for SIDBI as we can together provide a range of finance alternatives that will be instrumental in growing India’s civil helicopter business.
“This is another area where SIDBI can offer finance to helicopter operators, which is expected to pave way for MSMEs financing related to this sector,” said Mr. Priyadarshi.
This means that ‘”This collaboration between the two firms opens up a brand new avenue” in terms of receiving funds from SIDBI which becomes “the first time such an organization is entering into co-financing.”
