Guajarat Police last night arrested four individuals in the Ahmedabad airport on suspicion of terror activities which according to anandabazar patrika posed a threat to security of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB’s) team and its star player Virat Kohli ahead of their Wednesday’s IPL eliminator match against Rajasthan Royals.
When the RCB’s camp got this information, they cancelled their practice at Gujarat College ground in Ahmedabad on Tuesday and also did not go for press conference on match eve. However, the Rajasthan Royals proceeded with their training as planned but also called off their press conference.
The Narendra Modi stadium hosted qualifier 1 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday hence making it unavailable for practices by the two teams who could only use Gujarat College ground. KKR won that match to enter the final.
The same report further claims that police found four detainees with firearms together with suspicious videos and text messages at their hideout.
Someone has reportedly increased security around RCB’s team hotel, sealing all entries and exits for players and team staffs.
