At the Iconic Eden Gardens in 2014 youth Pat Cummins was handed his IPL debut by captain Gautam Gambhir, then of Kolkata Knight Riders.
In the only match he played in the 2014 season against Chennai Super Kings, Cummins bowled four overs and took a wicket; he gave away 29 runs and had a maiden delivery.
Pat Cummins however did not play much thereafter except for sitting on the bench most of the time holding water bottles and bats for his mates, who cheered from dugouts. In spite of little game time, he helped KKR win their second title in 2014.
On social media after KKR’s title win in 2014, there is video evidence that surfaced showing Cummins dancing to KKR’s anthem ‘Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re’.
Then again old Cummins video clip resurfaced on Sunday defeat as Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper on social media.

He has played 58 IPL matches since his debut season in 2014 where he has taken a total of 63 wickets and scored another 515 runs.
Pat Cummins has also represented Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Sunrisers Hyderabad other than KKR during his IPL career.
During the IPL Auction ahead of the tournament in 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad purchased Cummins for an all-time high price of Rs 20.50cr making him the second costliest player ever bought in the history of IPL. Agence France-Presse
For the year 2024, Cummins became captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad who made it to finals but were runners up after losing to KKR at Chennai.
