Ahmedabad’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday formed six-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate corruption charges against MD Sagathiya, a jailed city planning officer for Rajkot. TRP Game Zone Fire.
Additional Director of ACB Ahmedabad, Bipin Ahire will head the SIT while its members include Assitant Director ACB Gandhinagar, Ashutosh Parmar; Rajkot ACB Assistant Director In Charge, KH Gohil; and Rajkot ACB Inspector JM Aal.
Among the five municipal officials that were detained following the fire of TRP gaming area on May 25 resulting in death to about twenty seven people was Sajatiya.
During his tenure with RMC, Sajatiya earned Rs 257 crore legally as opposed to his assets and valuables which had an estimated worth of Rs 290 million indicating that the asset value constituted approximately 1,128% of his legal earnings. It is said that he presided over a corrupt administration in RMC which never took any action against illegal structures. He also filed false minutes of meeting held on May27 by RMC believing that it will be presented before court.
