In a recent video shared on Indian Premier League (IPL) official X handle, Abhishek revealed that he and his opening partner Travis Head started the celebration.

“Most of my family members are here except my father. So it is special if they can come down here, watch me play, celebrate with me all through such moments like these,”” stated Abhishek when he described how important it was for them to attend the game.
Abhishek Sharma is now the leading Indian six-hitter in a single edition of IPL history which he achieved on Sunday. In the process, he scored 66 runs off just 28 balls with five fours and six sixes coming at an incredible strike rate of 235.71 during this match.
With this performance, Abhishek has struck 41 sixes this season which makes him go beyond Virat Kohli’s record (38 sixes in that season) in 2016 IPL for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He also outsmarted Heinrich Klaasen (33 sixes), Travis Head (31 sixes in 2024), as well as David Warner who recorded 31 maximums during their innings played in 2016 thus setting a new milestone for SRH.
