New Delhi: AAP Leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj Delhi Police on Tuesday termed the ban order against Navratri as “Tughlaqi Farman” and demanded its immediate withdrawal.
Delhi Police on Monday issued a prohibitory order banning any protest or gathering of five or more people in central and border areas of the city for the next six days, citing law and order concerns.
The order was issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (earlier Section 144 of the CrPC).
Balavaj lashed out at Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and demanded his resignation, saying he was unable to handle law and order in the city.
“This order is ridiculous and irresponsible; it was issued to ban the holiday. hinducreating chaos and harassing the people of Delhi,” the Delhi minister said.
When elections can be held in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, why can’t festivals be held without restrictions, he asked.
