In progress of the T20 World Cup, Saurabh Netravalkar’s has become a sensation for his outstanding performances. This Mumbai-born pacer is now also a software engineer and the main bowler of US cricket team, leaving an impression on both fans and critics with four wickets in three matches including those of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli during the match against India.
During Pakistan’s second game in this tournament, Netravalkar’s committed heroics when he defended 18 runs in the ‘Super Over’ to silence 2009 champions.
Yet, it’s not about cricket only as far as Netravalkar’s is concerned. Being a cricketer and working as a software engineer at Oracle at the same time means that in addition to doing his job there is something else he juggles within his busy life.
Nidhi shared that her brother had unwavering commitment and work ethic.
“It was just because he always had people who would support him. Like if he wasn’t playing cricket he needs to give hundred percent to his job. So right now when he’s working you know what? He has his laptop carried all around with him. And then you can work from anywhere,” Cricket Next quoted Nidhi.
Moreover, Nidhi explained how he manages to merge between his professional pursuits and sports saying “Even when he comes to India…with his laptop…he works…He is pretty dedicated like that.”
Speaking about Saurabh’s formative years in Mumbai, she pointed out how much it influenced her brother’s attitude towards work.
“This thing is like Mumbaikarness; there’s always some part of me inside him after all these years; all our lives have been hustle,” she added.
