This is in respect of the selection for Delhi Men’s Senior Squad which is going to play in the Ranji Trophy for the forthcoming season. A fitness test of the selected players would be organized on September 26 2024 and the details of the venue shall be conveyed by the team manager.
While explaining the reasons, the letter also mentioned that players on international assignment will not take the fitness test. “Also, players of the age of less than 23 years of which none was selected for the Ranji Trophy shall be free to participate in trials for the age-group U 23 category. The letter also mentioned that Such a reversal of policy will also apply to radial arm select committee who undertakes the prosecution of various aspects of placement of players in relation to the particular categories,” continued the letter. The Ranji Trophy encounter on October 11 comes before India play their first Test against New Zealand on October 16 in Bengaluru and could provide Virat a crucial game time at home in Indian conditions.
