The earnings of top Indian cricketers are always a hot topic for their fans as cricket remains the most watched sport in India ever since 1983 when the country won the world cup.

Other than what they make since they became players of the game, which has increased many times over with the introduction of IPL in 2008, players’ earnings are also boosted through endorsement contracts. The larger the name, the larger the contract.

With that kind of mind-numbing earnings, the government revenues that these stars have to pay also increases in the pass rate.

As reported by the economic times of the Fortune India, cricketer Virat Kohli tops the list of cricketers and also Indian sportspersons who paid top most tax during the year 2023-24 in India.

Kohli, currently on holiday in London with his family, is reported to be second only to MS Dhoni who paid Rs 38 crore tax and Sachin Tendulkar who paid Rs 28 crore of top three cricket earners khali.

As per the information released by Fortune India, famous personality taxpayers such as Cyclone Dada have also appeared, who has paid taxes of Rs 23 crores and Hardik Pandya Rs 13 crores.

The middle of the rankings is filled with the name of the Shah Rukh Khan – the Bollywood star and the co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL franchise. The report places the tax paid by Shah Rukh in FY24 to Rs 92 crores.
