India was beaten by the hosts Sri Lanka with 32 runs during the Second ODI in Colombo on Sunday, and now they are left with no option but to win the last game of the series which can allow them to draw level in this three-match series.
The opening match of the series last week saw a tie between both sides.
The highlight of the match included many cricketing moments such as six wickets by Jeffrey Vanderay (6 for 33). For fun, Kohli danced a little bit too.
In regard to run-chase Vandersay outwitted India after visiting side had started their run chase at 240/9 Sri Lanka with a solid opening wicket stand of 97 runs Rohit Sharma (64) and Shubman Gill (35), but went down badly as they were bundled out for 208.
Apart from Axar Patel who scored a run-a-ball 44, none of the Indian batsmen could handle Jeffrey Vandersay’s leg spin spell that was complemented with Charith Asalanka off spinners (3 for 20).
Earlier Sri Lanka chose to take first strike where Washington Sundar picked up three wickets giving away only thirty runs and Kuldeep Yadav took two scalps for thirty three runs to restrict them below 250.
Sri Lanka were struggling at one point having been reduced to 136 for six; however Dunith Wellalage (39) and Kamindu Mendis’ late order batting help them reach a respectable total.
