Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, has spoken many times with utmost respect towards his father Gurunath Sharma and his deep admiration for his father.
Rohit has most of the time told that his father was helpful to him when he was growing up seeking his father’s understanding over his cricketing aspirations.
His father faced several economic constraints but nonetheless made efforts state over state in order to afford Advanced Cricket Equipment to him.
On the internet, on September 5, in teachers’ honour, there was a viral video in which Rohit was narrating his father’s life teaching about copy dodging.
Rohit has it, “I remember my father telling me that in whatever level you reach in life, this is the most important thing be yourself be the man that you are, be a role model for others. Because today is the day of your life where most of the people come and tell you what to do but the next day is going to be when you are going to be telling all these people or a few of them what it actually feels like to be starting off a career and what it takes to make all of the goals rats, and that is a cricketer’s life, etc. So when you go completely beneath the surface, and when you know what it really means to cover every aspect of one’s life, this is essentially it. I am the one who likes to simplify things the most, even when I am playing on the ground. I also try to simplify things as much as possible. There will be innumerable distractions available around you and I think that is why I think the simpler you make it, the simpler it is for your team, for yourself and even for people around you.
On the other hand, Rohit has often praised that it is due to his father who has made so many sacrifices that makes this achievement possible for Rohit, sat down didn’t Kukul invest in him and encourage him.
Gratitude and love define Rohit’s relationship with his father, and he has always maintained that his father’s guidance was instrumental in his career achievement.
