India’s shooting sensation Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh have brought home bronze medals in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics, and their families are excited to celebrate.
Earlier on, a bronze from Manu Bhaker for winning the women’s individual 10m air pistol event had animated her family.
“This is historic. I am really very happy,” rejoiced Sumedha Bhaker, Manu Bhaker’s mother. “Today after getting Jaspal sir’s guidance, manu has done wonders” she told Parami News.
His father and Ramkrishna Bhaker was all smiles telling the nation how significant this win was not just for him but also for the entire country.
“I am extremely happy with my daughter. The entire country is celebrating today because of this news,” he said. “I would like to thank our countrymen who have supported us in our difficult times by loving Manu.”
Jitender Singh, Sarabjot Singh’s father expressed his joy while talking about his son’s victory together with that of bhaker as well as her third place finish,
“Bronze medal jeet gayi hai Manu ka aur mere bete ne bhi jeeta hai, jinmein se sabse pehle meri or se unke poorvaj Gurudware jaunga (Manu Bhaker has won bronze medal and my son has also won, first of all I will go to Gurudwara),” Jitender Singh spoke out his heart.
The families’ ecstatic reactions reflect the national pride that India feels when these two athletes excel themselves every time they perform.
