Watch: Cricketers come to blows mid-pitch, bats used as swords!

A fist-fight was witnessed during the final of the MCC Weekdays Bash XIX, after the Rabdan Cricket Club batsman Kashif Muhammad was given a nasty send-off by Aerovisa Cricket bowler Nasir Ali.
In a video of the incident going viral on social media, a fired-up Ali could be seen celebrating and saying a few words right in Kashif’s face. At first the batsman ignored, but when Ali continued his verbal volleys, Kashif turned back to respond.
The verbal duel soon turned into a physical altercation, as Kashif’s batting partner, Aerovisa players and the umpires tried to separate the two.

Ali could be seen in the video grabbing Kashif’s bat and trying to hit him. After the bat fell off his hand, Kashif picked it up and attempted to hit Ali back as the other players on the field struggled to control the duo.
According to article 2.12 of the International Cricket Council’s Code of Conduct, “Any form of inappropriate physical contact is prohibited in cricket. Without limitation, players will breach this regulation if they deliberately, recklessly and/or negligently walk or run into or shoulder another player or umpire.”
It further states: “When assessing the seriousness of the breach, the following factors (without limitation) shall be taken into account: (i) the context of the particular situation, including, without limitation, whether the contact was deliberate (i.e. intentional), reckless, negligent, and/or avoidable; (ii) the force of the contact; (iii) any resulting injury to the person with whom contact was made; and (iv) the person with whom contact was made.”
