Navjot Singh Sidhu, a former cricketer from India, commended Virat Kohli, an Indian batsman, for his crucial performance in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup against South Africa.
Kohli played a pivotal role in this match when he struck 76 runs (59 balls) with six fours and two sixes which led to a total of 176/7 after their 20 overs. Later on they won the match by defending this score and restricting south African team to 169/8.
This is what Sidhu had to say about Kohli during the Star Sports programme: “But when it mattered most and when we were all praying and hoping that we don’t choke at the last hurdle, that’s when he stood like the rock of Gibraltar amidst ruins .He held one end up and carried us through to win that crown when our ship was sinking.”

In his twenty20 international career, Kohli played 125 matches,,accumulating, 4188 runs at, an average of, 48.69 and strike rate of, 137.04 per cent .His record includes one century and 38 fifties, with a highest score of 122*. He retires from the format as the second highest run-getter of all time.
