A Pakistani fan who gave away his tractor for $3000 (INR 2,50,000 approx/8,40,000 approx Pakistani Rupee) on India vs Pakistan game watched the T20 World Cup game between India and the USA on Wednesday at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.
The Indian cricket team won by seven wickets against Pakistan and qualified for the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup 2024. The Pakistani supporter in green jersey was happy on hearing this news.
In a video posted on ‘X’, he told ANI that “I sold my tractor valued at $3000 to watch a match between India and Pakistan which we lost, I was soo disappointed but the public were so supportive of me. mujhe itne acche messages aye ki mujhe laga ki ajj mujhe India ko support karna chahiye (I received such great messages from the public that I felt I should support India today). Surya has won my heart today. Tractor ke paise India ne vasool karva diye (India have made the money spent on the tractor worth it).”
After winning against Pakistan, he said “I sold my tractor to buy a ticket worth 3000 USD When we saw Indian score we did not think that we are going to lose these games We thought it was an achievable score. The game was in our hands but after Babar Azam got out people were quite disheartened. All you guys deserve congratulations.”
On Wednesday, when Shayan Jahangir (0) and Andries Gous (2) were sent back by Arshdeep Singh (4-9), USA had their job cut out as they went into bat first. Steven Taylor (24) and Nitish Kumar (27) still managed to steady the boat in spite of this early blows and guide their team to a reasonable total of 110-8.
In India’s chase, Arshdeep Singh began with a fiery spell that set the tone for the innings. Thereafter it was Suryakumar Yadav (50) and Shivam Dube (31) who took over creating a crucial 72 run partnership that virtually sealed victory for India. The Men in Blue had an easy 7-wicket win courtesy of their batting brilliance.
