Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder of India, does not want to think about the upcoming T20 World Cup match between his country and Pakistan as a “war,” but he wants to face an opponent with whom he has had a lot of success.
On Sunday, India led by skipper Rohit Sharma will play Pakistan and Pandya would be happy to add more victories against the archrival.
“I am really excited standing in big games like this. It makes it so much better for me plus Pakistan is one team that I have been very lucky enough to do well in many matches” said Pandya on ‘Star Sports’.
Pandya has played six Twenty20 Internationals against Pakistan thus far. Despite his generally below-par performances, the Baroda player’s bowling stats are superior to his batting figures. He has only scored 84 runs with the bat, with a peak of 40.
The all-rounder who can bowl fast has captured 11 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 7.5 from six matches besting at 3/8.
“Everything depends on vibes. This is not about conflict or war; this will be history,” maintain Pandya.
India thrashed Ireland easily by eight wickets as their first match in the main event of ICC while Pakistan was shocked by USA through Super Over on Thursday.
While talking about discipline against Pakistan, Pandya also stressed upon quality of Indian bowling unit.
“India-Pakistan is always full of excitement; there are lots of roars and noise; there is a lot of emotion as well as adrenaline but then again during such game we should have some discipline among ourselves and most importantly our group aim is just we go plus slaughter them.”
“So if we can do that, I think it will be a one more nice day for us.” Hardik had told BCCI.
