The fans of cricket are very much looking forward to the renewal of a fierce rivalry between India and Pakistan on the global stage, as Shahid approach the 2024 T20 World Cup.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a clip featuring Shahid Afridi, who shared his thoughts on the high-stakes encounter between these two cricketing powerhouses during the 2021 T20 World Cup.
“I did so well; played too much cricket and seen enough but hadn’t won over India in any world cup, that was my unaccomplished desire” said Afridi to ICC.
“Dubai game against India (2021 t20 WC) which Pakistan won, that was one moment I felt like I should have been there on that occasion. That’s one opportunity I missed,” added former Pakistani skipper to ICC.
Pakistan’s emphatic 10-wicket victory over India in the 2021 T20 World Cup still lingers in Pakistani cricket fanatics’ minds with great nostalgia. The men in green put up a commanding performance that resonated throughout the tournament.
Recently Shahid Afridi has been named as one of the star-studded lineup of ambassadors for the 2024 T20 World Cup taking place in USA and West Indies starting from June 2nd.
On June 9th at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, both sides’ second group A meeting will see them clash with Pakistan.
