MUMBAI: The newly crowned T20 World Cup winners will hold an open bus parade with a small gathering at the Wankhede Stadium Mumbai to celebrate their 2024 title win in a similar manner as of the Dhoni-led Team India victory in 2007 during the first ever T20 World cup. Delta had a direct flight from Barbados to Delhi on Wednesday night for Indian cricketers, who have been stranded here for the past three days due to hurricane Beryl.

After that, team India will board a chartered plane going back to Mumbai. A kilometer away from this place, they will proceed through an open bus drive up to Wankhede and stage a brief ceremony where Rohit Sharma, captain of Indian cricket team, hands it over to Jay Shah, secretary of BCCI.

In a generous move, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah offered assistance to about 20 of the Indian media personnel who were stuck in Barbados by allowing them to join the Indian cricket squad on its special chartered flight from Barbados to Delhi. Barbados has been on high alert due to the Hurricane Beryl threat in the island nation since Sunday.
