New Delhi: The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team is still surprised of the ten wickets misery at Sunriser Hotel Hyderabad (SRH) that dominated the chase from start to finish.
In a nail-biting encounter, SRH captain Travis Hyde and T Sharma engineered fastest 160-plus target chase in IPL history to inflict a humiliating 10-wicket defeat on LSG in an intense pulsed light Wednesday game.
Head (89 not out in 30 balls, 8×4, 8×6) and Sharma (75 not out in 28 balls, 8×4, 6×6), faced with a moderate target of 166 comfortably defeated the LSG bowlers. Bounding over the boundaries and non-stop sixes were just there done by them and it was won by a mere time of only nine overs and four points eight runs.
The triumph also propelled SRH to third on the table with 14 points after twelve matches while LSG are sixth on a similar number of points.
As playoffs approach, this result has confirmed that five-time champion Mumbai Indians have been eliminated; they are now ninth on the table with eight points from twelve games.
LSG skipper Rahul rued about the unexpected outcome but appreciated his opponents’ performance. In all facets of the game SRH bowlers and batsmen surpassed those of LSG for an outright win.
A stunned Rahul described it as “unreal” defeat; he had nothing more to say but commended how SRH began their innings against LSG’s bowlers.
“Nothing can be much said I watched batting on TV…unbelievable. Everything struck dead center; credit goes to their skill…they really worked hard for such six-hitting,” he added later.Rahul said after the match.
