ICC Test Team of the Year 2023, that was announced during ICC Awards at the beginning of this year, saw India’s star all-rounder being honored as Ravindra Jadeja became one of its members.
Ravindra Jadeja, like his Indian counterpart Ravichandran Ashwin, has made it to this elite club on account of some excellent performances with white and red ball throughout the year.
Jadeja took to his official Instagram handle to share images from when he received the ICC Test Team of the Year cap from Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid. The pictures portray Dravid personally handing over Jadeja’s cap while in the caption below he says “Special cap from special person.”
The team include players such as Pat Cummins (c), Kane Williamson, Usman Khawaja, Dimuth Karunaratne, Joe Root, Travis Head, Alex Carey (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mitchell Starc and Stuart Broad.
The side is captained by Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins and features other big names in world cricket.
These two are known for making their presence felt in test matches hence their inclusion in such an illustrious list. They have both been central figures in these contests: they displayed remarkable consistency and skill.
Jadeja is expected back onto action next year during T20 World Cup 2024 scheduled for USA and West Indies; recent accolades serve as a reminder that he will be remembered as a great player long after retirement.
