Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian team, managed to pull off the most astonishing one-handed catch out of seemingly nowhere, and flaunted it in front of the crowd at the Green Park Stadium on a Monday after two days of rain during the second Test against Bangladesh.
Rohit was positioned mid-off and hit the right spot as a cleanly made drive by Litton Das off Mohammed Siraj looked to be heading for the maximum until Rohit’s right hand intervened and the ball was neatly caught in his palm.
Das (13) was totally bamboozled by this as well as he had timed his shot perfectly but could either not keep it down on the ground or get enough elevation on the ball to clear Rohit.
Before the players could settle back in their places after the shock of that catch caught all of the Indian team and before they could start celebrating Rohit had dashed forward with his hand bitten and a broad smile adorning his lean face.
That was general quick five wicket haul for Bangladesh at the score of 148 as Jasprit Bumrah had already gotten Mushfiqur Rahim (11) on the fourth morning of the test.
Mominul Haque, himself, brought up his half-century though.
India are leading the two matches series 1-0 after winning by 280 runs at Chennai.
