After India emerged as winners of the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, the skipper spent time on the beach with the trophy during an official photo session.
India had won their second T20 title after seventeen years by defeating South Africa, from which they were able to produce a seven-run victory in the final at Kensington Oval on June 29. India was also crowned champion at the inaugural event in 2007 when MS Dhoni was still at its helm.

On Sunday at the beach, BCCI released images of Rohit holding up the trophy.
“A billion dreams, a billion emotions, and a billion smiles! Mission accomplished. World Cup conquered. We are World Champions. Hey, Captain! You’ve done it,” read BCCI’s post on microblogging online platform ‘X’.
Batting first in Saturday’s final Virat Kohli contributed with 76 runs while Axar Patel scored quick fire47 off just balls to put a competitive score of 176 for 7 on board.
Skipper Heinrich Klaasen (52) and Quinton de Kock (39) took SA well within range of their target requiring one run per ball with plenty of wickets left before Hardik Pandya (3/20), Jasprit Bumrah (2/18) and Arshdeep Singh (2/20) brought back game for India.
Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah struck timely blows while David Miller got out for 21 after Suryakumar Yadav made Superman-like effort to pull off a catch near boundary line during India vs SA ICC T20 World Cup Final in Barbados.
