India’s captain Rohit Sharma has shown his overwhelming sentiments after leading India to win the T20 World Cup 2024 and subsequently retiring from the format.
Sharma, who scored 4231 runs in 159 matches, is retiring as the leading scorer in the format and holds a record of five centuries in T20 internationals.
Rohit Sharma rejoices at the end of an exceptional career having won the T20 World Cup twice; first in 2007 as a player and now in 2024 as the captain. Sharma shared his thoughts about it on Instagram.
“This picture sums up how I feel right now. So many words but cannot find them right ones to say what yesterday meant to me but I will find them…and share them…but for now, let me be lost in this dream that came true for a billion of us.”
The veteran also stressed that this success of his squad actually represents a true story come into being with him and his billion fans strong supporters.
