For the upcoming multi format series against Australia, Samit Dravid son of ex Indian captain and coach rahul dravid has been picked for indian under19 team on saturday.
According to PTI report, Amaan Mohammed of UP will captain India against hosts Wynberg Allen in the oneday tri-series from September 22-26.
The Indian team for the first two Amman rounds will be headed by Madhya Pradesh’s Lohit Dasalongka. Then it will return to Chennai for two four-day games on 30th September and 7th October.
Samit, an all rounder and a medium fast bowler is currently playing for the Mysore Warriors in the ongoing KCSA Maharaja T20 trophy being held in Bengaluru.
But he hasn’t bowled in the tournament and his batting hasn’t been all that great either with a best of just 33 runs from seven innings.
This year’s Cooch Behar Trophy was a fairytale run for Samit as he was one of the key players for Karnataka in its first ever title victory in the tournament.
In 8 matches the 18 year old immaculate scored 362 runs out of which age return 98 against Jammu & Kashmir was worthy of the elastic.
Additionally, Samit performed exceptionally well in the tournament with the ball, getting rid of 16 opponents in eight games. Two of those were against Mumbai in the finals.
