On Sunday in the second Test match played at Rawalpindi, Bangladesh bounced back from 26 runs for 6 wickets with Liton Das’s brilliant inning scoring 102 runs against Pakistan who were in a commanding position by then.
However, the 29-year-old had himself 138 runs over 333 minutes and returning Bangladesh back into the game with a vigorous 165 run seventh wicket partnership with Mehidy Hasan Miraz who aggressively contributed 78 runs as well.
By the end of the third day, they had stung the tiger within; Pakistan was reduced to a miserable 9-2, opener Abdullah Shafique bowled for 3, nightwatchman Khurram Shahzad for naught both to pace bowler Hasan Mahmud’s blitzkrieg.
At this juncture Saim Ayub remains not out on six runs and the home side has a lead of 21 runs. This is also after Pakistan lost the first Test in Rawalpindi by 10 wickets and thus will need to bat cunningly if they are to square the series.
