Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan drove the 49th over of Pakistan’s innings, which led to an all-run four. This rare incident occurred during a commanding partnership that helped Pakistan go into lunch on Day 2 at 256/4.
On the other hand, this happened in the 49th over of Pakistan’s innings.
Saud Shakeel struck the ball down the ground to mid-off from a fast delivery bowled by Nahid Rana (147.6 km/h). The fielder Shoriful Islam barely got his fingers on it but managed to slow it down by a huge margin.
But, it does not make it pass the fence as it landed a yard short allowing them time to cross for four. Najmul Hossain Shanto came running from mid-on after chasing the ball; however, Shakeel and Rizwan did not let go off their opportunity and completed all four runs before he could get there.:
This was an exceptional example of sharp running between wickets and proper communications between these two batsmen while playing cricket. In doing so they have demonstrated that they are accomplished cricketers with both bat and – cricketing awareness.
Shakeel scored an unbeaten 86 off 169 balls with Rizwan being not out on 89 off 129 as they played key roles in rebuilding Pakistan’s innings after early losses.
Pakistan was in trouble when their first day ended at three wickets for just sixteen runs. However, Saim Ayub’s fourth wicket partnership of exactly one hundred (56;98) together with Saud Shakeel restored hope for them against Bangladesh.
Currently, their ongoing alliance for fifth wicket stand is more than one hundred runs and has placed Pakistan in a strong position where they will be looking forward to making a substantial lead against Bangladesh.
