New Delhi: India captain Rohit Sharma opened up about the batters he enjoys watching at the moment. In an interview with Dubai Eye 103.8 Radio Station, Rohit, who is currently playing for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), said he loves to watch England opener Zak Crawley and Australian opener Steve Smith bat.
“He has a different way of doing things in-between; I mean Steve Smith’s batting – I liked it. “But I watched Zak Crawley very closely this season and enjoyed watching him bat.”, added Rohit.
Crawley, 26, has excelled primarily as a Test batsman for England. He has collected 2,611 runs at an average of 32.63 and a strike rate of 64.67 in his 44 Tests matches.
Some of them were four centuries and fourteen half-centuries in 82 innings while his top score was a remarkable -267 on that note crawly had played eight one-day international where he made six centuries and scored two fifties.
On the other hand, Smith is considered as Australian cricket legend having amassed an impressive tally of 16,225 runs from 334 games representing Australia at various levels internationally throughout his career which spanned several years.. His magnificent career boasts forty-four tons and seventy-nine fifties across various formats.
