Morne Morkel, who is a former fast bowler from South Africa and has recently been appointed as the bowling coach of India was recently appointed former fast bowler from South Africa, Morne. The changes are more about the addition rather than a reinstall. Before the series with Bangladesh, he has joined the Indian cricket team with a record of 544 international wickets.
Morne Morkel’s views were in favor of the structure maintained and operated by the cricket authorities in India which he said was very effective and professional.Morkel is specific that his aim is to “preserve and build” on the present system in place with adjustments where necessary.
“In fact, we are very fortunate there are senior players in the team like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja & Jasprit Bumrah. It’s up to them to take the lead and to take the blows as my duty is to back them,” Morkel said. He stressed on Trust and relationships in the team. Morkel hopes that he can assist the players in dealing with the pressures of playing for India when he takes an effort to make them comfortable and share information.
Morne Morkel whose wearing the blue shirt recollects that he said there are a few back seats where there are no easy coasting. That is, the blue jersey comes with a lot of pressure and expectations. My job is to ensure that the players are comfortable in the player’s circle, they adapt and most importantly, I share all that I have to offer.
Morkel’s appointment though has one overriding purpose adding to the brochure for which he is being fitted in adds to the strength of the Indian team.
