There is an instance when Jasprit Bumrah, a renowned Indian cricket player, explained how the death of his dad affected his relation with Juhika Bumrah, his sister.
This sad event happened in their 2nd and 4th grades that made them even closer as they continued to live together as one family over the years.
‘So, as I said to you my father went away from us when we were in second and fourth grade. Then we became really close as a family because life suddenly changed. We also had some financial problems. My father died very early; then my mother began working since there was no other way out to deal with this situation. And so we became a real family because we have seen ups and downs. Since then that bond has become stronger and stronger only. And that has only grown over the years” (Jasprit Bumrah, Parami News).
As she pursued her career in make-up industry, it led to her getting more involved in his brother’s cricket activities.
“Obviously she is into makeup now (Bumrah’s Sister)…she does my makeup sometimes when we are doing shoots but apart from that, like I said, we are very close and as a family sometimes discussing our good days or bad days things like that…we don’t want to be different because we have seen both sides of the coin…so just want to remain normal…live normally…and appreciate those little moments of happiness,” he added.
Interestingly enough for him though, she doesn’t know cricket’s rules but still is happy for me whenever I do well and everybody says your brother’s doing great”-he told Parami News Sports’ during an interview.
The pacer had an amazing performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 where he recorded 15 wickets in eight matches at an impressive economy rate of 4.17; these performances not only captivated India but also earned him the coveted Player of the Tournament award.
In a reflection of India’s victorious World Cup campaign, captain Rohit Sharma and batting icon Virat Kohli, along with versatile all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, called it quits on their T20I cricket careers. Nonetheless, Jasprit Bumrah has indicated that he is not going anywhere when it comes to Twenty20 Internationals anytime soon and demonstrated his commitment to continue his successful T20I career.
Although Rohit and Kohli are back for ODI series against Sri Lanka starting next week, Bumrah has been given rest from both ODIs as well as T20Is so that he can be fresh again for future challenges.
