G. Sudhakaran, the leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)], and a former Minister in Kerala, left the venue at Haripad, Alappuzha district on June 15 reportedly irritated by late arrival of other guests and failure to start the event.
The program organized by C.B.C. Warrier Foundation was to commence at 10 a.m at S & S auditorium. Although Mr. Sudhakaran arrived on time, others including Culture Minister Saji Cherian, CPR(M) Central committee member C.S. Sujatha and CPI(M) Alappuzha district secretary R.Nazar did not turn up. After waiting for half an hour, visibly angry Mr. Sudhakaran stormed out of the auditorium.
Explanation from organisers
Organisers later clarified that he had left to attend another programme at Charumoodu.
This programme was conducted in connection with the 11th death anniversary of Warrier who was leader of CPI(M). At this function, Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society received CBC Warrier Award.
