The Wednesday encounter between USA and India during the T20 World Cup 2024 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York was not only a cricketing battleground but also a lively canvas of creativity and passion.

Spectators attending the match brought with them an assortment of eye-catching posters, each with its own unique story adding to the electrifying atmosphere.

These posters ranged from humor to sentimental statements which captured the spirit of cricket as well as friendship among fans of both nations.

A striking poster said in bold letters: “Indian at heart, American on Paper; Who to support? Don’t care! Just make Pakistan team deport!” It included flags representing both India and America. This is meant to show that this sport is for everyone.

Another memorable sign humorously declared, “Aadhar Card vs Green Card,” drawing cheers and laughter from the crowd. These posters were colorful in many ways indicating their strong message for T20 World Cup unity across the globe which made it true celebration of cricket event.

But on the field nothing else mattered except cricket. Shayan Jahangir was dismissed by Singh in his first over while Hardik Pandya dismissed Aaron Jones (2-14).

USA’s innings never really gathered any momentum despite helpful scores from Steven Taylor on 24 and Nitish Kumar on 27. They were consequently able to post only a sorry total of 110-8 from their twenty overs.

India’s chase started off poorly with star batsman Virat Kohli getting out for golden duck and captain Rohit Sharma soon after. But Suryakumar Yadav (50* off 28 balls) and Shivam Dube (31* off 19 balls) settled down building a solid partnership worth seventy two runs.

Their calm headed batting ensured India reached the required score seven wickets & ten balls remaining thereby earning them passage into Super Eight stage of this competition.
