In the world of ever-changing TikTok trends, a new viral sensation called “Just Give Me My Money” trend is storming through the platform and leaving both participants and viewers in stitches.
Despite its simplicity, this trend contains a certain level of entertainment that just won’t allow one not to enjoy. The participants go into a circle or line and each says “just give me my money” in turns while they put on funny voices. As the phrase is uttered, the rest of the group showers the speaker with enthusiastic applause. However, when an individual with no clue about what was happening says it out loud and nobody claps at all.
This practical joke’s charm lies in its unpredictability as well as how people who are not ready react to it humorously.
One such moment occurred between Will Smith and others that became highly publicized due to its connection with this trend. In one of his recent videos, Smith’s co-stars from “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” set him up for this prank by staying quiet and walking away after he had said it. The outcome was a bewildered Smith whose perplexed reaction only served to increase interest in the trend.
Not clear about when exactly the “Just Give Me My Money” trend originated. However many sources link Kai Cenat ,a popular streamer on twitch to its beginnings.
Apparently during a live-streaming session held on January 2024, together with rapper DreamDoll. Cenat introduced these exact words which bear close resemblance to a scene from ‘Paid in Full’; 2002 movie. This phrase is repeated several times throughout that film hence may have been part of what inspired their idea for making this happen.
