One of the main Indian batters, Jemimah Rodrigues has said that her first participation in Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) will help her handle high-pressured situations during forthcoming T20 World Cup.
Jemimah Rodrigues is to feature for Trinbago Knight Riders in WCPL.
“Firstly, just to come out and play cricket because for me, that’s how I see it before the (Women’s) T20 World Cup (2024). I think these are the matches that I’m actually going to get as rest all will be my own preparation,” said Rodrigues during an interaction organized by Fancode.
“The more you’re in that situation and in those pressure moments, I think that’s the best preparation you can have. So, for me, I look at it (WCPL) more as a preparation for the T20 World Cup,” she added.
During their chat about WCPL which focused more on upcoming world cup; Jemimah Rodrigues discussed about her preparations. She also spoke about wanting to fine tune certain aspects of her batting technique prior to the event.
The ICC has decided to shift the prestigious tournament from Bangladesh to UAE due to political instability in the latter nation. The World Cup is expected next month.
“Really looking forward…a few things that I’m working on at nets and I am trying to implement them here too,
“Because when you do it in practice, it’s different but when you do it in a match – way different.”
