The current T20 World Cup has seen Indian fast bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah in great form. Kapil Dev, former India all-rounder, himself an iconic figure was particularly impressed by this amazing performance.
Jasprit Bumrah is the best bowler right now; he said in an interview that his skills are “1000 times better” than what I had at my peak; he was referring to his prowess on the field of play which made him a legend of cricket.
Bumrah has been exceptional throughout the tournament and currently leads the class with 11 wickets from 23 overs. Notably, his astounding economy rate of 4.08 shows how he can still stick to line while taking wickets consistently.
Speaking with PTI Videos, Kapil revealed, “Bumrah is 1000 times better than me.”
In addition to being considered the best bowler in international cricket today, Bumrah has also played for India for 26 Test matches where he took 159 wickets at less than three runs per over. He has also represented his country in ODIs (149 wickets from 89 matches) and T20Is (85 wickets from 68 appearances).
Moreover, Kapil Dev who ended his career as a player with a then highest Test record of taking out 434 batsmen in this format is acclaimed as one of the most complete all-rounders ever to play cricket. In ODI’s he managed to take out as many as two hundred and fifty three batsmen during his playing days.
Furthermore, the former Indian captain praised India’s improved physical fitness levels that have been maintained by the present team.
“They are fantastic,” he opined when asked about their general state of functionality and physique during an interview yesterday morning at Pataudi House situated near Gurgaon.”
