The Indian cricket team, who are the winners of the T20 World Cup trophy, were welcomed back home after their historic win in Barbados with a grand welcome and celebrations to celebrate this victory.

As early as Thursday morning in Delhi, India, a large number of fans had gathered at Indira Gandhi International Airport to meet their witful players.

In spite of the drizzling rain fall, fans were lining up outside the airport holding placards, and flags waving shouting aloud for their favorite stars.

Rohit Sharma led his men into lifting trophy amidst cheers thereby affording fans glimpses of silverware while inviting them to talk about it.

To facilitate India’s return journey from Barbados, Air India Charter Flight AIC24WC was organized. The aircraft took off from Bridgetown at 4:50 am local time on Wednesday and landed in Delhi at 6:00am (IST) on Thursday after a nonstop flight of sixteen hours.

The passengers included members of Indian squad; support staff; players’ families; board officials; and traveling media contingent on aboard flight.

India’s second T20 world title came when they beat South Africa by seven runs in the final held at Lord’s Cricket Ground which also extended the country’s total wins in the World Cup competition to four.

Nevertheless, this ICC trophy ended an eleven-year wait for that thrilling narrow seven-run victory against Proteas last Saturday. However Hurricane Beryl has caused shutdown resulting in delayed journey back f or all the cricketers competing in this region.

Part of these celebrations include a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian cricket team at his office on Thursday. Following Mumbai visit where open bus parade will take place after meeting President Ghani Modi will be another location allowing people see their heroes much closer as possible so as to feel happy together with them for what they have achieved so far

Additionally felicitation ceremony is slated for Wankhede Stadium the iconic venue to appreciate this team that brought unbelievable results.
