New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore’s pursuit of a playoff berth has been boosted by a “vintage” innings from Kohli, who praised Cameron Green.

In their crucial match on Thursday in Dharamshala, Kohli took all chances including a duck to score 92 off just 47 balls and laid the platform for a 60-run win over Punjab Kings.

“He played like old Virat. That was a beautiful game from the other end. As an opponent, that is what is good about having Virat in your team; you can’t give him many opportunities” said Green at the post-match press conference.

Kohli, who scored 46 off 27 balls as an all-rounder, stated that he was trying to be more attacking and errors had no effect on his game.

“He’ll get me hurt all day, especially if I put him down three or four times. He tried to go hard early on into his innings. I thought that after missing a couple of catches he didn’t look too good at us. Not much to show for it,” said Green during the match press conference.

Chennai Super Kings need two more home wins against Delhi Capitals with Bengaluru if they are to qualify for the playoffs again.
Green added that after losing several games recently, the side has done well and won four consecutive matches.

“Yep, I think we do this pretty well, looking forward to our next game. But I suppose you could always zoom out before kick-off today and see where we are at on the table and what’s going to come next.”

“But I think that’s kind of where we’re at right now is kind of backed into a corner so we have no choice but just try and get through one game at a time.” he said.
Kings XI Punjab assistant coach Brad Harding attributed the team’s loss to dropped catches

However despite giving away numerous lives RCB posted 241 runs for seven wickets and won the match by 60 runs.

In response, PBKS could only make 181 before being dismissed.

“If we actually looked at it closely we probably lost the game because of missed opportunities. We literally lost two guys on ducks and they both got big scores. That’s where the game was lost.”

“There wasn’t a whole lot separating the batting and bowling between the two teams. It was our catching that cost us,” he said.
