When it comes to cricket World Cups, India’s domination over Paksitan remains unmatched. But for the moment focus is on T20 World Cup alone, as the two traditional rivals get set to meet in the 2024 editon of the tournament on Sunday.
The Group A battle will witness fans storming the 34,000-capacity pop-up stadium in New York‘s Nassau County to see whether India can make it 7-1 or will Pakistan reduce the head-to-head record to 6-2.

T20 WORLD CUP: Schedule | Points Table

In seven matches the two teams have played against each other in T20 World Cup history, India have emerged victorious six times, including the match in 2007 edition’s group stage that ended in a tie and MS Dhoni’s men then won via tie-breaker ‘bowl out’.
Pakistan’s only win came in the 2021 edition of the tournament, when skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan hammered the Indian bowling attack for a resounding 10-wicket win in the UAE.

On current form, the scales are loaded in favour of Rohit Sharma’s India. Pakistan got off to a shocking start in the tournament, losing to USA in a ‘Super Over’ finish, while India swept aside Ireland for an emphatic eight-wicket triumph.
Experts and former players from India and Pakistan concurred that India enter Sunday’s game as favourites, but warned not to count Pakistan out.
