Hardik Pandya who is the star all- rounder in India believes that the bowling unit led by Jasprit Bumrah will deliver in the T20 World cup because of their experience, intensity and honesty.
On Wednesday, India played its first match against Ireland which was won by 8 wickets at a pitch that had lack of bounce as well as extra movement for seamers.
“We were told within the group today we have played 892 T20 games that’s a lot of games.
“So there is a lot of experience particularly in terms of bowling where we have somebody like Jasprit Bumrah who is far and away the best bowler. We have (Mohammed) Siraj has been outstanding over the last few years” Hardik revealed on bcci.tv.
“Arshdeep, he has been playing two world cups before this one also which he had done really good job with making sure he keeps improving himself all time.
“We have got so much experience, so much genuine honest within the core bowling group and even today (Wednesday) to help a bit, this wicket.” He further added.
The crew’s seam-bowling all-rounder indicated satisfaction with winning their opening game at the tournament
“Well we are really happy and very pleased to start off on a good note. Because once the competition starts it keeps going on,” Hardik said.
“It feels very good when you work hard and kind of get some success, and at the same point of time, it’s quite exciting to play here (in America).”
Afterwards, Vikram Rathour says that during any single match Hardik can bowl his four overs. In recent times injuries had troubled 30 year old all-rounder.
Despite having suffered from ill-health recently Hardik insisted that he was completely focused on what lay ahead. The all-rounder’s dedication to helping his team win could be seen through his focus and commitment on the field.
“For those who work hard, everything falls into place. So you have to go in and spend a whole lot of time with yourself, find out what you are all about, back yourself because I mean it’s a very easier job Hardik at 30 than Hardik at 60” he commented.
“So these days are much better from those days; try to find out exactly what you are trying to figure it out in your skill sets because that is why I went just bowled a lot of overs, batted a lot of balls so in this kind of situation slowly you realize your potential and that was my mantra.” Hardik added
He also expressed eagerness for India’s big ticket match against Pakistan scheduled for Sunday.
“India-Pakistan has always been very exciting lot of cheer and buzz, lots of emotion and lots of excitement but at the same time i hope we will be disciplined within that game as one goal as a group is we go there kind of go hunting.”
“Therefore if we can do that I think it would be a nice day for us,” Hardik said.
