Suresh Raina gave a Pakistani journalist a reality check when he attempted to mock the veteran Indian batsman for his comments about former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi.
The writer decided to ridicule Raina with this post on X: “ICC has named Shahid Afridi as ambassador for ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Hello Suresh Raina?”
In response, Raina went in hard on him demanding that he recall the game between India and Pakistan during 2011 World Cup semifinals played in Mohali.
“Not an ICC ambassador. But I have WC at home from 2011. How about that Mohali game? Maybe it will remind you of something,” said Mr. Raina.
Raina was asked earlier by Aakash Chopra who while doing Hindi commentary for Jio Cinema if he had any plans of changing his decision on retirement considering his age being only 37 years old.
Replying cheekily, Raina said ‘Suresh Raina hu, Shahid Afridi nahi’ which is a reference to multiple retirements of former Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi. This left the commentary box in splits.
