NEW DELHI: Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni recently opened up about his life after retirement, expressing satisfaction with his decision to step away from international cricket.
Speaking on the Eurogrip Tyres YouTube channel, Dhoni stated, “I thought I will get more time, but sadly, I haven’t got much time. I don’t miss international cricket because I always believe you know you think about everything then you take a decision.Once you have taken a decision no point really thinking about that. So I am very happy with God’s grace whatever I was able to do for my country.”
Since announcing his retirement on August 15, 2020, Dhoni has embraced life outside the international spotlight.

Despite leaving the game at the highest level, he has continued to make an impact in the Indian Premier League (IPL), leading the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to five titles over the years.
At 43, Dhoni remains an integral part of CSK, retained for Rs 4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.
Reflecting on his post-cricket life, Dhoni said, “It has been fun. I have been able to spend a lot of time with friends, I can do a lot more motorcycle rides, not the long ones, that’s something very close to my heart. It has been good, family time, daughter questioning when you are coming back.”

This new chapter in his life has allowed him to indulge in his hobbies, particularly motorcycles, and spend cherished moments with his family.
Although his international career ended with a heartbreaking semifinal loss to New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup, Dhoni remains satisfied with his accomplishments.
Over a 15-year career, Dhoni achieved iconic status, leading India to three ICC trophies: the T20 World Cup (2007), the ODI World Cup (2011), and the Champions Trophy (2013).
While Dhoni briefly returned as a mentor during the T20 World Cup in 2021, his primary focus now is on CSK and his life beyond cricket.
