David Warner the opening batsman of Australia, has shown his support for Virat Kohli by stating that criticism of his strike rate is excessive and unwarranted.
In Super Eight Matches of the T20 World Cup, following a poor performance in New York during group stage matches. He contributed scores of 24 and 37 runs against Afghanistan and Bangladesh respectively.
Moreover, Warner noted that whenever they meet on the cricketing pitch, this rivalry is often heightened by Kohli’s passion. He reckons that whenever India plays there are added dimensions due to the presence and passion of Kohli.
“It is purely his love for the game; I mean he possesses an indomitable spirit just to keep scoring runs and he is always hungry. You know he gets all sorts of criticisms which are not fair. I do not know why he does but many people out there are great fans of Virat like us,” added Warner as quoted by IANS on Star Sports.
“Right now we look up to these legends who have played this game before us. And we are lucky enough to be able to share the dressing room with them. So, you know, he goes about it (his business) his way every single time. You know what? He makes a lot of runs again. He’s a good team man and competes hard… That’s why we enjoy playing against them (Indian cricket team).”
Adam Zampa hints at what will be an imposing task when facing India. Because Rohit Sharma alongside Virat Kohli will bat for their batting line up as well.
“I mean looking forward hopefully into the super 8s in finals there is going to be huge challenges. If you go down India’s line-up you’d see Virat, Rohit.” All these guys were obvious names who’ve been around for a long time according to Zampa.
Rohit’s batting was also hailed as amazing by Tim David, who felt it was a magnificent show. He further pointed out that the captain is resolved and eager to win the world cup.
“You know, it’s just Rohit’s natural game. You love watching the way he bats. It’s so easy going when he steps out onto the crease you would always sit down. And watch him bat and it’s such a joy on any given day. But I think he has got to look after his teammates because obviously as captain of India he is in that role. And I also know he wants to win a World Cup pretty bad,” said David Tim.
