NEW DELHI: A heartwarming video that went viral on social media shows Ishan Kishan‘s mother and grandmother showering him with love as he left for the Australia tour from his home hometown.
Ishan has made his return to the national setup, being named in a 15-member India A squad, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, for the upcoming tour of Australia.
India A is set to play two first-class matches against Australia A in Mackay and Melbourne, followed by a three-day intra-squad game against the senior India team in Perth.
Ishan, who was dropped from the BCCI central contracts earlier this year due to concerns over “prioritizing” the Indian Premier League over domestic cricket, has now rejoined the India A squad.
He was last part of the India team during the 2023 South Africa tour, which he left midway for a personal break – a decision that reportedly did not sit well with the BCCI.
Following his decision to skip domestic competitions leading up to the IPL, the BCCI had removed him from the central contract list.
