NEW DELHI: Jasprit Bumrah‘s return home was nothing short of extraordinary as a grand celebration was arranged to honour his homecoming after Team India‘s triumphant T20 World Cup campaign.
Bumrah played a pivotal role in Rohit Sharma‘s side throughout the campaign, earning himself the Man of the Tournament accolade for his exceptional performances, including the crucial spell that helped India clinch the seven-run victory over South Africa in the final.

A viral video captured the moment Bumrah was welcomed at his residence. Showered with petals and surrounded by enthusiastic fans, the pacer basked in the adoration of the crowd.

His remarkable achievement of taking 15 wickets from eight matches with an economy of 4.17 throughout the T20 World Cup 2024 had clearly won the hearts of the nation.
Watch:

Following the World Cup victory, three of India’s most prominent players – captain Rohit Sharma, star batsman Virat Kohli, and versatile all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja – announced their retirement from T20I cricket. Nevertheless, Bumrah has made it clear that he has no plans to step away from the shortest format of the game anytime soon.
Bumrah’s statement during the felicitation at Wankhede Stadium solidified his commitment to playing the sport for a rather long time. “It’s (my retirement) a long way away. I have just started. Hopefully, it is far away now,” he declared, putting to rest any speculation about his potential retirement from T20I cricket.
Despite the departures of the stalwarts, Bumrah‘s unwavering determination to continue his journey in the shortest format of the game would be a reassuring sign for Indian cricket fans.
