Rohit Sharma, the skipper of India, spoke up about the difficult conditions in America stating that he said it was hard for us all but we are professionals.
He accepted that the new environment was unfamiliar with its attendant challenges. However, Rohit noted that their response was professional given their adaptability and ability to perform despite adversities.
Rohit won the toss and elected to field against Ireland in their opening Group A match of the T20 World Cup at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Wednesday.
“We’ll be bowling. We’ve got ourselves through these new conditions. It’s been a challenging period but all of us here are pros so no worry. We had played on a similar wickets and we know what to expect from it.”
“I know it will be a little bit different from what we used to. But that is sport. I do not really know anything about conditions and then a target would be nice for us,” Rohit told Nasser Hussain during his toss speech. “Kuldeep, Sanju, Jaiswal and one more are missing.”
However, Rohit’s belief in his team’s ability to handle these changing circumstances such as weather patterns or types of pitches remains strong though they present unique problems. They are focused only on getting over these hurdles so that they can give out better results while playing professionally on the pitch.
