Two places up, Hardik Pandya has moved to join Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga in the top position of the ICC Men’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings. His significant performance in the final included his getting Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller out.
In this class, however, he is now the first Indian man to have ascended to number one.
Throughout the tournament, India’s Pandya was a major contributor with the bat as well as with the ball. He scored 144 runs at an average of over 150 per inning while picking up 11 wickets.
He changed the game when he dismissed Klaasen during their last match thereby turning on India’s favor.
Pandya came into stake for them most valuable player of their T20 finals over: he kept South Africa from hitting sixteen runs off it thereby helping India take home this year’s World Cup.
There were also movements within the top ten T20I all-rounder rankings.
Marcus Stoinis, Sikandar Raza, Shakib Al Hasan and Liam Livingstone each advanced by one place on that list.
However, Mohammad Nabi had a decrease as he fell four positions down leaving him outside of those five leading players.
