New Delhi: The Batting Master Virat Kohli Leader later once again reiterated his commitment to quality performance for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beating Kings XI Punjab by 60 in IPL. This game is on Thursday at Dharamshala.
His statement that “for me, quality still matters more than quantity,” was a succinct response to his critics. Crucially, Kohli has shown through this performance that he is keen on delivering when it matters most.
Kohli’s answer reflected his self-assuredness and faithfulness towards the team leading him to be known as the player who puts the success of his team above individual records.
“For me, it’s still about quality not quantity. To me, it works really well. And that understanding of the game allows you to practice less and just try to replicate what I’ve done in the past. Still working on improving It’s an evolving process in every aspect of the game and I haven’t practiced it, I know I have been looking for ways to fight spin in the past,” said Kohli after being declared Man of the Match.
“I’m trying to maintain my strike rate as much as possible like me and the rest of our team are doing. Going into this tournament you have got to be honest with yourself only . We went through those losses and we just had an honest conversation with ourselves .We needed to win that game against KKR and we wanted to Fighting for pride, but we can’t let our fans down by playing like this .
Coming back into match, Kohli and Patidhar showed how good they were with their bats by both making impressive half centuries thus helping RCB ignite their slim playoff aspirations with an emphatic victory over PBKS.
Kohli was key in RCB innings smashing 92 runs off just 47 balls; where he managed a crucial partnership including a brilliant 72-run stand with Patidar who scored brisk 55 from 23 balls point. Moreover, Kohli also had a splendid 92-run partnership with Cameron Green who contributed a valuable 46 off 27 balls that took RCB’s total to 241/7.
On the other side, Riley Rossouw A Punjab Kings’ innings of 27-ball-61 demonstrated his batting prowess. However, Karn Sharma’s crucial double-double sparked the collapse in which Kings XI Punjab amassed 181 runs in just 17 overs.
The win gives RCB their fourth successive victory and takes them to ten points on the table.
However, Kings XI Punjab will not have any hopes of making it through to the playoffs because they are officially out of this tournament and cannot go beyond twelve points remaining after two games.
