Priyanka Gandhi Vadra campaigns for brother Rahul Gandhi at family bastion, says people in Rae Bareli know leader well
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday accused the entire BJP establishment of spreading lies against Rahul Gandhi. She also slammed the BJP, saying it talks about religion, caste and temples and mosques but not about the real issues concerning the people. Campaigning for her brother Rahul Gandhi in the family bastion, she said the people of Rae Bareilly know their leaders well.
“They also defeated Indiraji (Indira Gandhi) when they didn’t like some of her policies. Indira did not get angry but introspected. You elected her again. Rae Bareilly One of the characteristics of the people is that they know their leaders,” she said while addressing a street rally in Turvassa, the constituency. She said the BJP wanted to amend the constitution but when it realized they would suffer electoral losses, the prime minister said they had no such plan.
Earlier, in an article published on X, she said her party’s 100-year-old relationship with the people of Rae Bareli has entered a new era and the people of the constituency are once again ready to accept its leadership.
As part of the poll campaign, Priyanka Gandhi is scheduled to participate in street rallies in Maharajganj, Halor, Bhawanigarh, Goodha, Tilenda, Inchauli and Sudauli, all in Bachhrawan constituency of Rae Bareli. The Bharatiya Janata Party has ousted its minister Dinesh Pratap Singh.
